The First Shift - Scarcity to Abundance

I get it, it's hard. Not the kind of hard a math test or doing your taxes, hard. The kind you don't know how to put into words. The hard that brings out the vulnerable in you.

Maybe that's just it. It's not really "hard" its new, and newness is vulnerable.

Every time we change, there's a level of fear that is unlocked from a state of vulnerability. It's the 'what if' the 'should' and the 'could' that we so often focus on that prevents us from reaching what's next on our journey.

Fear and vulnerability lead us to a space of scarcity. Scarcity is safe. It is here that we put our self worth in our actions, rather than who we actually are.

Scarcity feels like inadequacy.

You must separate the who and the what. You are you. You are complex, you are unique, and you are worthy of success. You are NOT exclusively the sum of all of your actions, or lack thereof.

This, right here, surrendering your fear, is the first shift.

There is NOTHING to be afraid of. There are twists and turns along the way, but these will never outweigh the abundance that is hiding just around the corner.

Abundance does not have monetary value. It isn't the result of a banging body, fancy cars, a massive social circle, or new clothes 24/7.

Abundance is defined as, "plentifulness of the good things of life". Now, I don't know about you, but I love that. But, it makes you think, "what are the 'good things'?"

This is up to you, but an easy place to start is by defining the inverse of the things holding you in scarcity.

If only I had 'good food', if only I exercised, if only I took care of my body.

All of these things are possible, but scarcity is holding you back because you are afraid of letting go of your current self.

Scarcity constantly looks for reasons to delay transformation, abundance seeks opportunity in the current situation, with the resources available to you.

Start scared. Make the shift. Embrace all that you have. Embrace abundance.
